Over 30 years ago I worked with Mort Leve, one of our industry's true pioneers, as he put a small little non-profit association of racquetball club owners on the map. I saw – and helped - his son Chuck and John McCarthy turn that little group into IHRSA – the preeminent association for club owners.

For over 100 years the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) has effectively worked to enhance the profitability and protect the rights of manufacturers. They have vast experience in getting all oars rowing in the same direction.

Now, these forces have come together to create the Association of Fitness Industry Retailers and Manufacturers (AFIRM) – an organization that couples the relevance of today with the potential for tomorrow.
